The best made clones in California

The best made clones in California are undoubtedly those from Fife Nurseries. These are the ones that most of the top growers use, and they have been producing them for more than a decade with great success. The true story behind these clones is remarkable, and I was told about it recently by a grower of considerable repute who wishes to remain anonymous.

The story begins in the early 1990s, in the Humboldt County town of Arcata, where two high school friends, Mark and Jeff (not their real names), developed a passion for growing marijuana. They were teenagers when they started experimenting with growing techniques and breeding different strains, though they were breaking no laws because they were growing only one or two plants at a time, which was legal in California at the time. "In fact," Mark says, "we had to grow only one plant at a time because we didn't have room for more than that in our little apartments."

They grew hemp plants under lights in closets and wardrobes-anywhere they could find space-and eventually began to produce exceptional bud. People came from all over northern California to buy it-or so goes the legend. It is hard to verify any of this because no one will talk on record about it;

-We have 3 clones in California

When I was a kid, I thought it would be cool to have three clones. Not three kids like me, but actual clones of me. This is not as weird as it sounds.

The main thing that makes us different from animals is that we have brains and use them to think about things that happened before we were born. Our thinking is our own, because no animal has anything like a culture or a language or any way to discriminate one thought from another.

It seemed obvious to me as a child that the main benefit of having three copies of myself would be to make it possible for each copy to marry a girl without worrying whether the other two girls were available. With eight of me, the problem would be solved!

-Clones can be used to grow anything

Clones can be used to grow anything. A parent donor plant is selected for its genetic qualities and multiplied by asexual means - cuttings, tissue culture or marcotting. The resulting clones all have the same genetic make-up as their parent plant. They will, therefore, produce plants that are genetically identical to the mother plant; in other words, clones.

Cloning is a popular method of vegetative propagation for many commercial crops including grapes, bananas, citrus and coffee.

Cloning is also used to produce large numbers of identical plants of cultivars with superior qualities such as disease resistance or high yield potential or with desirable characteristics such as being dwarf or having fleshy fruits.

In horticulture it is common practice to take cuttings from a plant and grow them on to produce further plants because they will flower and fruit more quickly than seed propagated plants and are genetically identical to the mother plant.More Information
